Obsessed With: Le Creuset Caribbean Braiser...

One of the best used pieces of cookware in my kitchen is my Le Creuset Braiser. I bought it 2 years ago and it just is a workhorse in my kitchen. I bought it in the sassy red at the time because there was no such thing as Caribbean line. As Teal IS my favorite color, I really am starting to convert my kitchen to shades of teal and chocolate (with the occasional sassy red from my initial LC purchases).
However, lately I've been wanting to add more to my LC
Caribbean collection and I encountered
this 3.5 qt. braiser in Caribbean. I'm thinking, it might be good to have two, no. I use it much like a fry pan as well.
What do you think - should I add a new addition to the household?

Le Creuset Has Done Did It Again...
Yet another color :::sigh::: Le Creuset hits us with a Slate color.
Erin you might need to put them on blast. Apparently, from the way they are acting with their cookware selections, pink is not forthcoming anytime soon. Perhaps they might reconsider with a gentle prod (or taser).
While it's pretty in person, the Slate is much better than that Dijon color but I still am not rushing to Williams-Sonoma to fondle like I had to when I saw the Caribbean color.
If LC's Dutch Oven in Slate is something you might enjoy, check it out HERE. Labels: Cookware, Williams-Sonoma

Soup's On...
It's no secret in my household that some of my famous go-to recipes are soups. From an Italian (NOT French) Onion Soup with Thyme (Thank you Giada de Laurentiis!) to my classic standby Southwestern Chicken soup (thank you Michelle!), soup works out well. You have leftovers which are great for lunch, it's great on a cold night or just when you want a little comfort.
Well, Sur La Table tempted me again, as always, and they have this gorgeous Le Creuset Soup Pot in CARIBBEAN! ME LIKEY! I think I'll be hitting up the Sur this weekend to fondle this lovely.
Some gals like Diamonds. For me, it's all about the Le Creuset. What are some of your favorite soup recipes? Leave 'em in the comments.

Behold the Pot Rack...
Last fall, I fell in love with this pot rack when I saw it in the Southern Living catalog. My gal M. surprised me with it for Christmas and trust me when I say it's fabulous.
It was finally hung when my dad visited and I've got it outfitted with the pots and pans in my cabinet. He made sure it was super stable so I don't have to worry about Shadow getting bopped in the head.
Just to be safe, I figured I'd behave and only put one Le Creuset skillet on there and the copper pot along with the much lighter skillets, various ladles and spatulas. Also, for a bit of decoration, I also put some copper ornaments that I bought from Williams Sonoma for the holidays.
It's functional and gorgeous.Labels: Apt., Cookware, Southern Living At Home, Williams-Sonoma

Sur La Table - How You Tempt Us So...
Well - let's rephrase - Le Creuset - how you tempt us so. Did y'all see that they added YET another color line to their offerings - DIJON. Now, last time I visited SLT, they were discontinuing Chestnut. I know Williams Sonoma added a darker blue shade and I do like the color of the Dijon however, I'm still a Caribbean gal. For those that want a burst of sunshine in your kitchen, check it out here.

Fondue Anyone?
I've been looking for a fondue set lately as I've been wanting to have a fondue soiree.
I've been fondling this Le Creuset Fondue Pot for a while now. I think the time has come to investigate the Le Creuset outlet as well to see if they have one that's at a lower price. It's sturdy, well made and I swear by Le Creuset's products. The price makes it quite the investment for an occasional piece, but a piece that will be used for many years.

A more wallet friendly alternative is the Cuisinart Electric Fondue pot. Dishwasher friendly, generously sized and non-stick. It handles everything from cheese to chocolate to oil. Again, a pot made for multi-tasking with a temperature control.

Now, when it comes to dessert, what about this Chocolate Fondue set? Y'all know I really am a sucker for pretty copper. Yes, I think this will be on my "hmmm.. perhaps I need to investigate further" list.

Sur La Table has a more reasonable priced Copper Fondue Pot that looks a bit more "multi-tasking".

Kitchen Spotlight: Tuscan Mattone 2-Piece Terra Cotta Press
Ever have a REALLY good roast chicken that you often wonder "How the heck can I recreate that at home?"
I know I've had a couple in my time that is tender inside and crispy outside and I think I found the answer.
Sur La Table has a Tuscan Mattone 2 Piece Terra Cotta Press that looks like it could do the job with flying colors. They even have a killer recipe that goes with.
Now, I wonder if this little lovely will help me recreate the Houlihan's Rosemary Chicken recipe... hmmmm.
